Enter the running time and an average video bitrate. The estimate uses decimal gigabytes: minutes × 60 × megabits per second ÷ 8 ÷ 1,000. This is an estimate from your inputs, not a measurement of the player or a promise about a resolution.
Why actual usage can be different
Adaptive video changes bitrate during playback. Audio, advertising, retries and connection overhead can add data. A downloaded edition may use a different encode from a streamed edition. HD and 4K labels alone are not enough to infer an exact file size.
If a service provides an hourly data estimate or a data-saver setting, compare it with your allowance. For mobile viewing, leave room for other applications and avoid using the entire allowance on a theoretical calculation. Read the picture-quality guide before deciding whether a larger resolution will benefit the screen you are using.
